My name is Emily Wanjiku Muchangi.
I am a proud alumni of Amboseli Institute and this is my story. My passion for hospitality & tourism was built in Amboseli, where I had a chance to expand it through the help of my tutors and the exposure from my attachment. I had passion in both industries and that made me choose diploma in tourism & hospitality. It was a smooth journey since the attachment office helped me to get the best place for attachment. They took me for my 1st attachment at Leopard Rock Lodge, Meru National park where I got skills in tour guiding, service & front office. My 2nd attachment I was posted at Hells Gate National Park, I was more interested in customer service & front office, but also expanded in various departments that involve Tourism. Thanks to my tutors my leadership skills grew stronger hence taking the position as a class representative, tourism chair-lady and treasurer. The practicals that Amboseli offered were one of the best and very educative.
After graduating the journey wasn’t easy but I was always determined and focused. In 2018 I was employed at a lodge in Samburu as a Receptionist. In 2019 I was employed at Swara Acacia Lodge as a Receptionist where I work to date. I am whom I am today because of the skills I acquired at Amboseli Institute. If you are looking for the best college in Tourism & Hospitality choose Amboseli and you will never regret.
In everything you do keep God first, have faith and be focused. Many thanks to my parents, family, friends & tutors at Amboseli Institute for cheering me up in this journey.
